Sell or Trade Your Vehicle

Every make · Written offer · No obligation to buy

Start it here: tell us what you are driving, and our used-vehicle manager will follow up to arrange a look at it. The offer itself comes after we have seen the vehicle in person — that is the only way anyone can put a real number on a car that has been lived in. Take the offer as payment toward something on our lot, or take it and keep your keys to something else entirely. Both are fine with us.

How It Works

Four steps. The number comes at step three, not step one — and it is worth saying why.

  1. You tell us about itYear, make, model, mileage, and anything we should know. The form below takes a couple of minutes.
  2. We arrange a lookOur used-vehicle manager follows up to set a time. Bring it to the I-65 Service Road in Mobile, and expect to leave it with us for a short while.
  3. We put an offer in writingOnce we have driven it, looked underneath it, and checked its history, you get a written offer and an explanation of how we arrived at it.
  4. You decide what happens nextTake it as cash, or apply it against something on our lot. Or take the paperwork home and think about it. There is no step where you are committed to buying anything.
Why no instant number

A figure you cannot stand behind is not an offer

Plenty of sites will hand you a number the moment you type in a VIN, then revise it downwards once someone actually opens the door. We would rather not start that way. Tyres, brakes, paint, smells, service history and the odd unreported scrape all move the figure, and none of them are visible from a form.

So the sequence here is deliberate: information first, inspection second, offer third. What we can commit to before any of that is the shape of it — the offer will be in writing, it will be explained, and it will not be conditional on you buying something.

What We Buy, and What to Bring

We Appraise Every Make

You do not need to be selling a Mazda, and you do not need to be buying one. Our used-vehicle team appraises cars, SUVs, trucks and vans of any make, of most ages and mileages. If it is something we would not retail ourselves, we will tell you that plainly rather than lowball you and hope.

If You Still Owe on It

That is ordinary and it is not a problem. Bring your loan or lease account details and we will handle the payoff directly with the lender. If the offer exceeds what is owed, the difference comes to you or goes toward your next vehicle; if it does not, we will show you the gap in writing and talk through the options.

Bring These With You

  • The title, or your lender’s details if there is a loan on it
  • Current registration
  • A valid driver’s license for every titled owner
  • All keys and remotes you have
  • Service records, if you kept them

Trading, Not Just Selling

If you are putting the offer toward something else, our sales team can line the two up in the same visit so you leave in the new vehicle. Have a look at what is on the ground first — the Mazda CX-5, the CX-50 and the CX-90 are where most trades land.

Tell Us About Your Vehicle

This starts the conversation — it does not produce a figure on screen. Prefer to do it by phone? Call and ask for the used-vehicle manager.

Appraisal Request

The more you tell us, the shorter the visit

None of this is binding on either side. It gives our used-vehicle manager enough to prepare before you arrive.

By submitting, you agree to be contacted by by phone, email, or text about your vehicle. Consent is not a condition of any sale or purchase. We never sell your information.

Any appraisal figure is specific to one vehicle at one point in time, and it follows an in-person inspection and a review of the vehicle’s history. Submitting this form is a request for an appraisal, not an offer to purchase, and it creates no obligation on either side. Written offers are subject to verification of title, ownership, mileage and vehicle condition. Vehicles with an outstanding loan or lease are subject to lender payoff confirmation.

FAQ

Selling & Trading Questions

Do I have to buy a vehicle to sell you mine?

No. We buy vehicles outright, and the offer does not change based on whether you are shopping with us. If you would rather put it toward something on our lot, we can do that in the same visit — but it is your choice, not a condition.

Why can’t you tell me what it is worth online?

Because we would only be guessing, and a guess that gets revised downwards when you arrive is worse than no number at all. Condition is most of the answer, and condition is something you have to look at. Send us the details, bring the vehicle in, and you will leave with a figure someone has actually put their name to.

How long does the appraisal take?

Usually while you wait, though it depends on how busy the used-vehicle desk is when you arrive — which is the main reason we would rather book you a time than have you turn up cold. Call ahead or send the form and we will find you a slot.

Do you buy vehicles that are not Mazda?

Yes — cars, SUVs, trucks and vans of any make. Some of what we buy goes onto our own pre-owned lot and some goes to auction, and that does factor into the figure, but it does not stop us making an offer.

What if I still owe money on it?

Bring the lender details and we will deal with the payoff directly. If our offer is more than the payoff, the difference is yours — in cash or applied to your next vehicle. If it is less, we will show you exactly what the shortfall is before you decide anything.

What do I need to bring?

The title (or your lender’s details if there is a loan), current registration, a valid driver’s license for every titled owner, and every key and remote you have. Service records help. A missing second key is worth mentioning up front rather than discovering at the desk.

Is the offer good later, or only that day?

Written offers carry their own validity window, and the used-vehicle manager will tell you what yours is when they hand it over. It is tied to mileage and condition staying as inspected, which is why it cannot be open-ended.

Can someone else bring the vehicle in for me?

They can bring it in for the appraisal, but every titled owner has to be present with ID to complete a sale. If that is awkward to arrange, tell us early and we will work out what is possible.

Sell Your Car in Mobile, AL

Dean McCrary Mazda buys vehicles from the public at our showroom on the I-65 Service Road in Mobile, whether or not you are shopping with us and whether or not what you are driving is a Mazda. The process is deliberately unglamorous: you tell us about the vehicle, we look at it, and we put a written offer in front of you with an explanation attached.

Selling Outright vs. Trading

Selling outright and trading are the same appraisal with different paperwork at the end. If you trade, the offer is applied against the vehicle you are buying and the transaction happens in one sitting; if you sell, you hand over the keys and title and we settle with you directly. In both cases the payoff on any outstanding loan or lease is handled with your lender rather than left to you.

What Moves the Number

Mileage and model year are the obvious ones. Less obvious, and often larger: tyre and brake life, whether the service history is documented, accident history on the vehicle’s record, cosmetic condition inside and out, and whether all the keys and remotes are present. None of that is guesswork once someone has the vehicle in front of them — which is exactly why the offer comes after the inspection rather than before it.

Drivers from Mobile, Daphne, Spanish Fort, Saraland, Theodore, Pascagoula, Hattiesburg and Pensacola sell and trade their vehicles at Dean McCrary Mazda.
