Get Pre-Approved With No Credit Impact
Soft credit pull · No obligation · Start it before you visit
This page does one thing, and it is worth being precise about what that is. Sending the form below starts a pre-qualification, and the credit check behind it is a soft pull — the kind that is visible to you but not to other lenders, and that does not affect your credit score. Nothing is committed, no vehicle is reserved, and the credit-affecting hard inquiry does not happen until the end, after you have chosen a vehicle and agreed to terms in writing.
What “No Credit Impact” Actually Means
Two different kinds of credit check happen when you finance a vehicle. They are not interchangeable, and the difference is the whole promise of this page.
Now — the Soft Pull
What happens when you send the form below. A soft inquiry is recorded on your own credit file, where you can see it, but it is not shown to other lenders and it is not used in scoring. Your score is the same the day after you apply as it was the day before. That is a property of how soft inquiries work, not a courtesy we are extending.
Later — the Hard Pull
What happens at the end, after you have picked a specific vehicle and agreed to the terms in front of you. A hard inquiry does appear on your credit report and can move your score. It happens once, at that point, and not before — and by then you already know what the paperwork says.
Why Do It Before You Visit
You arrive knowing what has already been reviewed and what questions are still open, and the finance paperwork is largely prepared before you sit down. If the answer that comes back is not what you hoped, you have found that out quietly, from your own kitchen table, with your credit file untouched.
What This Is Not
Pre-qualification is not a loan, not a commitment from us or from a lender, and not a promise about terms. It is an early read. Final terms are set by the funding lender after a full application and verification, and they are confirmed with you in writing before you sign anything.
How It Works
Four steps, in order, with nothing hidden between them.
- You send the formThe fields below are the ones a lender needs to look at an application at all. Nothing on this page asks you to name a payment or a budget.
- We review it with the lenders we work withOur finance team takes it from there and puts your application in front of the lenders we do business with.
- A finance manager calls youThey will walk you through what came back, what it depends on, and what is still open. Ask anything at this stage — it costs you nothing and commits you to nothing.
- You decideIf you go ahead, you choose a vehicle, we confirm the terms with you in writing, and the hard credit inquiry happens then. If you do not, that is the end of it.
An early read, not an answer
A pre-qualification tells you and us where a conversation starts. It does not tell you what you will sign, because the funding lender sets that after a full application and verification of what you have told us. Anyone who tells you otherwise before a lender has looked at your file is guessing.
What we can commit to: the check on this page is a soft pull, you are under no obligation at any point, and you will see your terms in writing before you sign them.

Tell us how to reach you
We will confirm the details a lender needs when a finance manager follows up — this form is the start of that conversation, not the full credit application.
What a Lender Will Ask For
Not all of it on the form above — but this is what a full application eventually needs, so it is worth having to hand before the finance manager calls.

Pre-qualification is not a commitment to lend and is not a promise of final terms. Financing is provided by third-party lenders; Dean McCrary Mazda arranges financing and does not itself extend credit. The lender sets all terms based on its own criteria after a full application and verification of the information supplied. The soft credit inquiry used for pre-qualification is not visible to other lenders and is not used in credit scoring. A hard credit inquiry, which can affect your credit score, occurs at the end of the process and no earlier, after vehicle selection and acceptance of specific terms.
Pre-Approval Questions
Will this actually leave my credit score alone?⌄
Yes. The pre-qualification check is a soft inquiry. It is recorded on your own credit file so you can see it, but it is not disclosed to other lenders and it is not a factor in credit scoring. The credit-affecting hard inquiry happens once, at the end, after you have chosen a vehicle and agreed to the terms in writing.
What is the difference between pre-qualification and pre-approval?⌄
People use the words interchangeably, and the industry is not consistent about it. Here is what we mean: this page starts a soft-pull pre-qualification — an early read on a file. A finance manager then works it up into something firmer with a lender. Whatever it is called at any stage, nothing is binding until you sign, and until then no hard inquiry has been made.
Am I obligated to buy anything?⌄
No. There is no commitment on your side at any point on this page, and none after the follow-up call either. You commit when you choose a specific vehicle, read the terms, and sign — not before.
Do I have to pick a vehicle first?⌄
No. You can start this before you have decided anything. If you already have something in mind, tell us in the form and the finance manager will factor it in; if you do not, leave it blank.
Why do you need my Social Security number?⌄
Because a lender cannot look at your credit file without it. It is not collected on the form on this page — a finance manager will take it when the application is actually worked up, and it goes to the lender, not into a marketing list.
How long does a pre-qualification stay good?⌄
It depends on the lender and on the program, so we will not quote you a number here that might not be yours. Your finance manager will tell you the window that applies to your file. If it lapses before you are ready, we can start again — the soft pull is still a soft pull the second time.
Does this cover pre-owned vehicles as well?⌄
Yes. The same process applies whether you end up in a new Mazda, a Mazda Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, or a pre-owned vehicle of another make from our lot. Vehicle age and mileage do affect which lenders and which programs are in play, and your finance manager will explain that when it becomes relevant.
Can someone apply with me?⌄
Yes. A co-applicant or co-signer can be added, and they will need to complete their own portion of the application and agree to their own credit check. Note that a co-signer takes on equal responsibility for the loan once it funds — that is worth a conversation between the two of you before anyone signs.
Mazda Financing Pre-Approval in Mobile, AL
Dean McCrary Mazda arranges vehicle financing from our showroom on the I-65 Service Road in Mobile, and this page is the front door to it. The pre-qualification is deliberately narrow in what it promises: a soft credit check that does not affect your score, followed by a conversation with a finance manager who works here, in this building, and who will tell you plainly what a lender has said about your file.
Why We Do Not Quote Numbers On This Page
You will not find a rate, a term, a monthly figure or a payment calculator here. That is on purpose. Those numbers belong to a lender and to a specific vehicle, and any figure printed on a page before either exists is a guess dressed up as information. When there is a real number attached to your file and a real vehicle, you will see it in writing, and you will see it before you sign rather than after.
What to Bring When You Come In
Your driver’s license, proof of income in whatever form you have it, and your trade-in’s paperwork if you are bringing one. If you are self-employed or paid on a 1099, bring recent tax returns — that is the single most common reason an otherwise straightforward application waits an extra day.
Drivers from Mobile, Daphne, Spanish Fort, Saraland, Theodore, Pascagoula, Hattiesburg and Pensacola finance their vehicles through Dean McCrary Mazda.
