2026 Mazda CX-90 Maintenance Schedule

Mazda opens this model year by splitting the CX-90’s one printed coolant row into two: an Engine circuit that keeps its 120-month first change, and a new EV-system circuit on the same mileage figures but a 180-month first change. Every other row on this model year’s table reads exactly as it did in 2024–2025. This page states the 2026 model year’s own schedule, and where a figure is new here it says so rather than folding it into a schedule an owner could mistake for an earlier car’s.

10,000Miles or 12 Months · The Maximum Interval
180Months First Change · EV-System Coolant, New This Year
120Months First Change · Engine Coolant, Unchanged
ONE ROW ADDEDSplit From the 2024–2025 Single Coolant Row

What Changed From the Model Year Before

One row, added outright — and this page says exactly what it is and what it is not, rather than leaving the difference between two coolant intervals for an owner to guess at.

Mazda Split the Coolant Row in Two

The 2024–2025 CX-90 prints a single coolant row: replace at first 192,000 km (120,000 miles) or 120 months, then every 96,000 km (60,000 miles) or 60 months. This model year keeps that row for the engine circuit and adds a second row for an EV-system circuit that the earlier book does not carry at all.

Same Mileage, a Longer First Change

The two rows share every mileage figure: first at 192,000 km (120,000 miles), then every 96,000 km (60,000 miles). What differs is the month figure at the first change only — 120 months for the engine circuit, unchanged from 2024–2025, and 180 months for the EV-system circuit. Both recur at the same 60 months once that first change is made.

This Figure Is 2026-Only

Mazda does not print an EV-system coolant row in the 2024 or 2025 book, and the 180-month figure belongs to this model year alone. Neither of those model years’ own pages states it, and nothing here should be read backward onto them.

Everything Else Reads the Same

Outside the coolant rows, this model year’s table matches 2024–2025 line for line — the same maximum interval, the same brake fluid and tire figures, the same severe-driving condition list. One row was added; nothing else moved.

How This Model Year’s Table Is Built

Mazda’s own structure, described so you can read your own manual with confidence.

Two schedules, and they are not two full tables. The normal schedule is the whole list; the severe schedule is a short condition list and ONE row that changes. Every figure on this page is labelled with which of the two it comes from.
The normal schedule’s columns are occasions rather than mileages: Mazda heads them “number of times, maintenance was performed”. The Nth column falls at N times 10,000 miles or N times 12 months, whichever comes first, out to 80,000 miles or 96 months, and the mileage is a ceiling the wrench indication comes on before.
The severe schedule is a real mileage grid rather than a column count, running from 5,000 miles or 6 months up to 40,000 miles or 48 months, and Mazda puts one row on it.
Mazda’s own symbols: I is inspect, and Mazda defines that as inspect and clean, repair, adjust, fill up or replace if necessary. R is replace and T is tighten. Some rows are printed as sentences rather than as marks, and where they are, the sentence governs.
This page states the 2026 model year’s own schedule. The Mazda CX-90 Maintenance Schedule page states the same current-year figures under its own steady URL; this page exists to record, at its own boundary, exactly what changed as Mazda opened this model year.

Schedule 1 — Normal Driving

This model year’s normal-driving schedule, grouped by the column Mazda marks each row at.

Marked at Every Column
Every 10,000 Miles or 12 Months
Engine oil and filter, drive belts, coolant level, brake and clutch fluid level, disc brakes, and the function of all lights.
Mazda’s note on the oil row: reset the engine oil data whenever the engine oil is replaced, whatever the message or wrench indicator light happens to be showing.
Marked at Every Other Column
Every 20,000 Miles or 24 Months
Fuel lines and hoses, brake lines, hoses and connections, steering operation and linkages, front and rear suspension with ball joints and wheel bearing axial play, and the driveshaft dust boots.
Brake fluid, replaced. This car schedules a brake fluid replacement every 20,000 miles or 24 months, and it is a row of its own rather than the brake and clutch fluid level inspection. That figure is unchanged from 2024–2025.
The bolts and nuts on the chassis and body sit at the same columns but carry T rather than I, so they are tightened rather than inspected.
The Longer Rows
30,000 Miles and Beyond
Every 30,000 miles or 36 months — air filter. Every 40,000 miles or 48 months — hoses and tubes for emission, and the exhaust system and heat shields. Every 40,000 miles — spark plugs, one row for the engine this car is sold with, and with no month figure printed. Every 30,000 miles or 24 months — cabin air filter, printed as a sentence.
Coolant, in two rows this model year. Engine: at first 120,000 miles or 120 months, then every 60,000 miles or 60 months — unchanged from 2024–2025. EV system: the same 120,000-mile first figure and 60,000-mile recurring figure, but a first change at 180 months rather than 120. The 2024–2025 book carries the engine row only, and states no EV-system figure at all.
The tire rows sit at 7,500 miles, off the 10,000-mile column basis the rest of the table runs on, and Mazda prints both as sentences rather than as marks: rotate every 12,000 km (7,500 miles), and inspect the tire inflation pressure and tire wear every 12,000 km (7,500 miles) or 12 months, with a spare tire inspected if equipped.
The emergency flat tire repair kit, if equipped, is inspected annually, and Mazda’s note adds a yearly check of the repair fluid expiration date.
One row in this table is scoped to Canada — the body condition inspection for rust, corrosion and perforation, which Mazda prints Canada against in the row’s own action column. It is not an interval for a Mobile, Alabama car and it is not quoted as one here.
Three things Mazda does not schedule in this table, recorded so nothing fills them in: there is no automatic transmission fluid row, no fuel filter row — only the fuel lines and hoses inspection — and no rear differential or transfer case row.

Sourced from the Scheduled Maintenance (U.S.A., Canada, and Puerto Rico) section of the 2026 Mazda CX-90 owner’s manual, PDF pages 613 to 615 (manual pages 9-6 to 9-8), and from Mazda’s standalone 2026 scheduled-maintenance excerpt, confirmed identical against it. No figure was carried forward from the 2024–2025 book; the coolant split above is this model year’s own change, established by comparing the two books directly. Your own manual is the authority for your vehicle; bring the mileage and our team will read the table with you. Mazda’s own book for this model year is document CX-90_8NU2-EA-25G_Edition3_new 2026-1-22 — the one to check your vehicle against.

Which Schedule Applies to Your CX-90

On this nameplate the severe schedule changes one row, not the whole car — and it is unchanged from 2024–2025.

Mazda’s Own Condition List

Mazda prints, for the CX-90: if you drive your vehicle under any of the following conditions, follow the severe driving scheduled maintenance and replace the engine oil and filter every 8,000 km (5,000 miles) or 6 months, whichever comes first; otherwise follow the normal driving scheduled maintenance intervals. The vehicle is idled for long periods or driven at low speeds, such as with police cars, taxis or a driver’s education school car; the vehicle is driven mainly on unpaved road; and the vehicle is driven mainly on mountain roads or uphill roads.

It Is One Row, Not the Whole Car

Mazda does not move this car onto a second full table. It changes the engine oil and filter and prints, for everything else, “follow maintenance interval listed in normal driving scheduled maintenance”. That includes both coolant rows above — neither moves under the severe schedule.

Nothing on That List Is About Weather

Mazda names no heat, no humidity, no rain, no salt, no dust and no short trips for this car. On Mazda’s own published wording, ordinary Mobile-area driving meets none of the three conditions, so a 2026 CX-90 is a normal-schedule vehicle.

How Mazda Prints the Severe Table

It is not a second full list. Mazda heads the column block “maintenance interval other than engine oil and filter replacement” and footnotes it: follow the maintenance interval listed in the normal driving scheduled maintenance. So the severe table is one row and a pointer back at the normal one.

Schedule 2 — Severe Driving

What Mazda’s severe-driving schedule actually changes on this model year.

Engine Oil and Filter — Every 5,000 Miles or 6 Months

Mazda prints: replace the engine oil and filter every 8,000 km (5,000 miles) or 6 months, whichever comes first. That is the whole of what the severe schedule changes, and the row sits on its own grid running from 5,000 miles and 6 months up to 40,000 miles and 48 months.

Everything Else Follows the Normal Intervals

Mazda prints it in as many words: follow the maintenance interval listed in the normal driving scheduled maintenance. The air filter stays at 30,000 miles, the cabin air filter at 30,000 miles or 24 months, the brake fluid at 20,000 miles and the disc brakes at 10,000 miles — and both coolant rows stay at their own first-change figures, 120 months for the engine circuit and 180 months for the EV-system circuit, whichever schedule the car is on.

The Conditions Mazda Names

The vehicle is idled for long periods or driven at low speeds, such as with police cars, taxis or a driver’s education school car; the vehicle is driven mainly on unpaved road; and the vehicle is driven mainly on mountain roads or uphill roads.

What That Means Here

A CX-90 driven ordinarily in Mobile meets none of Mazda’s three conditions, so the short oil interval is not this car’s answer unless how it is driven says otherwise. Our service team will go through the list with you rather than assuming it in either direction.

Dean McCrary Mazda works from this model year’s own factory maintenance schedule at our Mazda service center in Mobile.

Why This Model Year Has Its Own Page

Mazda opened this model year by splitting the CX-90’s single coolant row into two: the Engine circuit keeps its 120-month first change, and a new EV-system circuit uses the same mileage figures but a 180-month first change. That figure belongs to 2026 alone — the 2024 and 2025 books print no EV-system row at all. Everything else on the table reads the same as those model years. The same current-year figures also live at the Mazda CX-90 Maintenance Schedule page under its own steady URL.

Normal and Severe

The normal schedule is the whole list, hung off a maximum of 10,000 miles or 12 months. The severe schedule is a short condition list and one row: engine oil and filter every 5,000 miles or 6 months. Everything else follows the normal intervals, which Mazda prints in as many words.

Booking and Pricing

Service pricing moves, so it lives on the service offers page rather than being written into this one — what you read there is current. Book through the service scheduler, or see the rest of what we do at the Mazda service center.

2026 Mazda CX-90 Maintenance Schedule Questions

What is the maintenance schedule for a 2026 Mazda CX-90?

Mazda hangs it off the same maximum interval as the rest of this nameplate’s run — 16,000 km (10,000 miles) or 12 months, with the display or wrench indication as the prompt. Its columns count occasions rather than mileages, the second falling at 20,000 miles or 24 months and so on to 80,000 miles or 96 months. What is new at this model year is one row: the coolant schedule, covered below.

What changed on the 2026 Mazda CX-90’s coolant schedule?

Mazda split the single coolant row the 2024–2025 CX-90 prints into two. The engine circuit keeps the same figures it always has — replace at first 192,000 km (120,000 miles) or 120 months, then every 96,000 km (60,000 miles) or 60 months. A new EV-system circuit uses the same mileage figures but a longer first change, 180 months, then the same 96,000 km (60,000 miles) or 60-month recurring interval as the engine circuit.

Does the 180-month EV-system coolant interval apply to a 2024 or 2025 CX-90?

No. Mazda does not print an EV-system coolant row in the 2024 or 2025 book at all, and the 180-month figure is specific to this model year. A 2024 or 2025 CX-90’s own maintenance schedule page states no EV-system interval, and this page’s figure should not be carried backward onto either of them.

Does Gulf Coast driving change the schedule on a 2026 Mazda CX-90?

On Mazda’s own wording, no. Its three severe-driving conditions for this car are idling or low-speed running, mainly unpaved roads, and mainly mountain or uphill roads — no heat, no humidity, no short trips. If one of the three does apply, the engine oil and filter go to every 8,000 km (5,000 miles) or 6 months and nothing else moves, including the coolant rows above.
