Mazda Multi-Point Inspection
A multi-point inspection is not an invention of the service drive: Mazda prints the list. On ten of the twelve 2026 models a specific set of items is marked at every column of the maintenance grid, which means every 10,000 miles or 12 months. This page is what that list actually contains.
What Mazda Marks at Every Service
These are Mazda’s own every-column rows on the ten models that use the eight-column grid.

The whole vehicle, not the complaint

Two Tiers, Plus the MX-5 Pair
Mazda splits the inspection list across two intervals on most models, and runs a different set again on the two MX-5 body styles.

What the List Does and Does Not Say
Three notes that keep an inspection honest.
Inspect Means More Than Look
Mazda defines its own symbol: inspect means inspect and clean, repair, adjust, fill up or replace if necessary. So an inspection row can legitimately end in work.
No Pad or Rotor Mileage Comes Out of It
The disc brake row is an inspection. Mazda publishes no pad or rotor replacement mileage on any of the twelve models, so what you should get from us is a measurement rather than a verdict from the odometer.
One Row Is Not for Alabama
The body condition inspection for rust, corrosion and perforation is scoped by Mazda to Canada. It is not quoted here as a Mobile interval.
What Severe Driving Adds to the List
On eight of the twelve models Mazda states that everything except the oil keeps its normal interval, so the inspection list does not change. The exceptions are worth reading precisely.
Eight Models: No Weather Condition at All
On the Mazda3 Sedan, Mazda3 Hatchback, CX-30, CX-50, CX-70, CX-70 Plug-In Hybrid, CX-90 and CX-90 Plug-In Hybrid, Mazda lists three severe-driving conditions: extended idling or low-speed operation, driving mainly on unpaved or dusty roads, and driving mainly on mountain or uphill roads. Heat, humidity and rain are not on the list. If none of those describes how you drive, Mazda’s normal schedule is the one for your car.
CX-50 Hybrid: A Fourth Condition, for Load
The CX-50 Hybrid carries the same three conditions plus one more, and it is about load rather than weather: a heavily loaded vehicle — towing a trailer, using a camper, using a car-top carrier. Mazda maps that fourth condition to the transmission fluid and both differential oils, inspected at 20,000 miles and replaced at 40,000 miles, and not to the oil.
CX-5: Humidity Counts, Item by Item
The CX-5 is the one model where Mazda maps each severe condition to specific items rather than to the whole car. Extremely humid climates and extensive brake use move the brake fluid to annual replacement; short trips, extreme heat and heavy rain move the drive belt inspection to every oil change. Mazda triggers the 5,000-mile oil interval only from prolonged idling, unpaved or dusty roads and sustained mountain driving.
MX-5 Miata and MX-5 Miata RF: Schedule 2
These two work differently again. Mazda lists nine severe conditions and any one of them moves the car to Schedule 2 in full — and extremely hot conditions, extremely humid climates and repeated short-distance driving are all on that list. Schedule 2 brings 5,000-mile tire rotations, 5,000-mile brake inspections and 30,000-mile manual transmission oil. The oil itself stays on the flexible wrench-indicator interval unless the car is idled heavily or driven in dust.

Mazda Prints the List
On ten of the twelve 2026 models, disc brakes, brake fluid level, coolant level, tire pressure and wear and the lights are marked in every column of the maintenance grid — which is every 10,000 miles or 12 months. A second tier of rows falls at 20,000 miles or 24 months.
The MX-5 Pair Get a Longer List More Often
Under Mazda’s Schedule 2, which extremely hot or extremely humid conditions both trigger, the MX-5 Miata and MX-5 Miata RF add coolant level, brake and clutch fluid level, washer fluid level, the lights and lock and hinge lubrication at every 5,000 miles or 6 months.
Mazda Multi-Point Inspection Questions
What is included in a Mazda multi-point inspection?⌄
On ten of the twelve models, the items Mazda marks at every service: disc brakes, brake fluid level, coolant level, tire inflation pressure and tire wear, and the function of all lights. A second tier — brake lines and hoses, steering, suspension, driveshaft boots and fuel lines — falls at every 20,000 miles or 24 months.
How often should my Mazda have one?⌄
Every 10,000 miles or 12 months on ten of the twelve models, which is the same visit as the scheduled oil change. On the MX-5 Miata and MX-5 Miata RF the disc brake inspection falls every 7,500 miles under Schedule 1 and every 5,000 miles under Schedule 2.
Will the inspection tell me when I need brakes?⌄
It will tell you what the pads measure, which is the useful form of the answer. Mazda publishes no pad or rotor replacement mileage for any model, so a measurement is the only honest basis for the recommendation.
Is the inspection free with a service?⌄
What is included varies with the work being done and with current offers, which live on the service offers page.
