Mazda Service Technicians
Our technicians train on Mazda vehicles specifically and work on these twelve models every day. What that buys you is the ability to answer a maintenance question from your own model’s table, in a lineup where twelve tables disagree with one another on purpose.
What Sits Behind the Answer You Get
Three things a Mazda service department has that a general workshop does not.

Trained on the cars we sell

Training continues as models change

The equipment Mazda specifies
Where a Generic Answer Goes Wrong
Three worked examples from Mazda’s own tables, each of which a one-size answer gets wrong.
Sourced from the Scheduled Maintenance section of each model’s 2026 Mazda owner’s manual. Your own manual is the authority for your vehicle; bring the mileage and our team will read the table with you.
How We Answer a Question
Three habits that these pages are built on as much as the workshop is.
Quote the Model, Not the Lineup
A figure without the models it applies to is wrong for some fraction of the lineup whichever figure is chosen. Every interval we give comes with its models attached.
Say So When Mazda Publishes Nothing
No brake pad mileage on any model, no fuel filter interval on any model, no spark plug interval in months on any model. Those are answers, and we give them as answers.
Separate Our Advice From Mazda’s Schedule
If we recommend something shorter than Mazda publishes, we say it is our recommendation. Attributing it to Mazda would be putting our opinion in the manufacturer’s mouth.
The Answer We Give About Gulf Coast Driving
It would be easy to tell every customer here that their car is a severe-service case. Mazda’s documents mostly say the opposite, and this is what they actually say.
Eight Models: No Weather Condition at All
On the Mazda3 Sedan, Mazda3 Hatchback, CX-30, CX-50, CX-70, CX-70 Plug-In Hybrid, CX-90 and CX-90 Plug-In Hybrid, Mazda lists three severe-driving conditions: extended idling or low-speed operation, driving mainly on unpaved or dusty roads, and driving mainly on mountain or uphill roads. Heat, humidity and rain are not on the list. If none of those describes how you drive, Mazda’s normal schedule is the one for your car.
CX-50 Hybrid: A Fourth Condition, for Load
The CX-50 Hybrid carries the same three conditions plus one more, and it is about load rather than weather: a heavily loaded vehicle — towing a trailer, using a camper, using a car-top carrier. Mazda maps that fourth condition to the transmission fluid and both differential oils, inspected at 20,000 miles and replaced at 40,000 miles, and not to the oil.
CX-5: Humidity Counts, Item by Item
The CX-5 is the one model where Mazda maps each severe condition to specific items rather than to the whole car. Extremely humid climates and extensive brake use move the brake fluid to annual replacement; short trips, extreme heat and heavy rain move the drive belt inspection to every oil change. Mazda triggers the 5,000-mile oil interval only from prolonged idling, unpaved or dusty roads and sustained mountain driving.
MX-5 Miata and MX-5 Miata RF: Schedule 2
These two work differently again. Mazda lists nine severe conditions and any one of them moves the car to Schedule 2 in full — and extremely hot conditions, extremely humid climates and repeated short-distance driving are all on that list. Schedule 2 brings 5,000-mile tire rotations, 5,000-mile brake inspections and 30,000-mile manual transmission oil. The oil itself stays on the flexible wrench-indicator interval unless the car is idled heavily or driven in dust.

Twelve Models, Twelve Tables
Mazda publishes a separate maintenance table for each model in the 2026 lineup, and they disagree deliberately. The CX-70 rotates its tires every 7,500 miles and the CX-5 every 10,000, and both are correct. Working from the right one is the whole point.
Genuine Parts and Named Fluids
Mazda names FL-22 coolant and warns against substitutes in writing; it specifies three oil viscosities across the lineup, including SAE 0W-16 on the CX-50 Hybrid alone. Following that precisely is what factory training is for.
Mazda Service Technicians Questions
Are your technicians factory-trained on Mazda?⌄
Yes. They train on Mazda vehicles specifically and work on the current twelve-model lineup every day, with Mazda’s own service information for each model.
Why does the answer depend on which Mazda I have?⌄
Because Mazda publishes twelve different maintenance tables. Oil is every 10,000 miles or 12 months on ten of the twelve and flexible on the MX-5 pair; spark plugs run from 40,000 to 120,000 miles. There is no single lineup-wide interval to quote.
Will you tell me if Mazda does not publish something?⌄
Yes, and it happens more than you might expect: no brake pad or rotor replacement mileage on any model, no fuel filter interval on any model, and no spark plug interval in months on any model.
How do I book?⌄
Through the service scheduler. Current offers are on the service offers page.
