Mazda3 For Sale
The Mazda3 comes in two bodies: a four-door sedan with a separate trunk, and a hatchback with a tailgate and a folding rear seat. They share their engines, their available all-wheel drive and most of their trim ladder, so the choice between them is mostly about what you put in the back — 13.2 cu ft of trunk against 20.1 cu ft behind the rear seat, opening to 47.1 cu ft folded. Every figure on this page is MSRP including destination and delivery.
Shop The Mazda3 By Body Style
Two cards, one per body, each with its own live inventory, trim walk and colour grid. The figure on a card is the MSRP of that body’s cheapest trim, including destination and delivery. The two ranges do not start at the same rung — the sedan opens with the 2.5 S, while the hatchback range begins at the Select Sport — so the card figures are not directly comparable trim for trim. Both bodies are fully priced today.

Four things that hold whichever body you drive off in.
The Difference Is Behind The Rear Seat
Both bodies use the naturally aspirated 186-hp engine through most of the range and the 250-hp 2.5 Turbo at the top of it, and both offer i-ACTIV AWD® as standard on two trims. What actually differs is cargo — a 13.2 cu ft trunk against 20.1 cu ft behind the tailgate, 47.1 cu ft with the rear seat folded — and one trim: a six-speed manual is offered on the hatchback and not on the sedan.
Factory Warranty, Standard
Every new Mazda carries a New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles and a Powertrain Limited Warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Both are the manufacturer’s own terms and both come with the vehicle.
One Price Basis, Stated Once
Every figure we publish for a new vehicle is MSRP including destination and delivery — the same basis on this page, on the full new-vehicle page and on every model page behind them, so no two of our pages quote one trim two ways. Both Mazda3 bodies are confirmed and priced today, so neither card on this page withholds a figure. Get pre-approved before you visit.
Factory-Trained Service & Genuine Parts
The building that sells you the vehicle is the building that maintains it, by technicians trained on these vehicles and with Genuine Mazda Parts on the shelf. Schedule service or order parts.
Sedan Or Hatchback?
Two columns, because the Mazda3 has two bodies and choosing between them is the question this page exists to answer. Three of the rows below are identical in both columns, which is the point as much as the rows that differ: the engines, the drivetrain options and the size of the trim ladder are shared, so the decision really does come down to cargo and one gearbox. Every cell names its source and the model year that source describes. No cell carries a price — the two cards higher up the page are the only price surface here. EPA-estimated economy varies by trim, drivetrain and options; specifications change, so confirm the current figures with our team before you buy.

Buy A New Mazda3 in Mobile, AL
Dean McCrary Mazda stocks both Mazda3 bodies on the I-65 Service Road in Mobile. They are the same car underneath — same engines, same available all-wheel drive, almost the same trim ladder — which is exactly why the choice confuses people: there is no better one, only the one that fits what you carry. Sit in both and open the back of each before you decide. One price basis across the page: MSRP including destination and delivery.
Sedan Or Hatchback?
The Mazda3 Sedan gives you a separate, lockable trunk of 13.2 cu ft and the quieter cabin that comes with a bulkhead behind the rear seat. The Mazda3 Hatchback trades that bulkhead for a tailgate and 20.1 cu ft behind the rear seat, opening to 47.1 cu ft with the seat folded — if you ever carry anything tall or awkward, that is the whole argument, and it is a large difference rather than a marginal one. Two smaller things follow the body. The hatchback is the only Mazda3 offered with a six-speed manual, on the 2.5 S Premium trim, which the sedan range does not include at all. And the sedan is EPA-rated slightly higher on combined economy, 30 mpg front-wheel drive against 28–29 mpg. Everything else — the 186-hp engine, the 250-hp 2.5 Turbo at the top, i-ACTIV AWD® on two trims, five seats — is common to both.

Mazda3 Questions
What is the difference between the Mazda3 Sedan and the Mazda3 Hatchback?⌄
The engines, the available all-wheel drive and most of the trim ladder are the same — the difference is behind the rear seat. The Sedan has a separate 13.2 cu ft trunk; the Hatchback has a tailgate and 20.1 cu ft of cargo space, opening to 47.1 cu ft with the seat folded. The Hatchback is also EPA-rated slightly lower on combined economy, and it is the only one of the two offered with a manual gearbox.
Which Mazda3 body should I buy?⌄
Whichever one swallows what you actually carry. If your boot is mostly shopping and luggage, the Sedan is quieter and the trunk locks away separately from the cabin. If you move anything tall, bulky or awkward — flat-pack, bikes with the front wheel off, a dog crate — the Hatchback’s tailgate and folding seat are not a marginal gain over a trunk, they are a different kind of space. Nothing else about the car changes with that choice.
Can I get a Mazda3 with all-wheel drive?⌄
Yes, on either body, but not on every trim: i-ACTIV AWD® is standard on two of the five trims — the 2.5 S Carbon Edition and the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus — and the other three are front-wheel drive. That is unlike Mazda’s SUVs, where every trim of every Mazda SUV has all-wheel drive as standard.
Does the Mazda3 come with a manual transmission?⌄
On the Hatchback only. The 2.5 S Premium pairs the naturally aspirated engine with a front-wheel-drive Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual, and that trim is exclusive to the hatchback body — the Sedan range does not include it.
What is the difference between the 2.5 S and 2.5 Turbo engines?⌄
The naturally aspirated 2.5 S makes 186 hp and powers most of both ranges. The 2.5 Turbo makes up to 250 hp on recommended premium fuel and comes only on the range-topping Turbo Premium Plus, where it is paired with standard all-wheel drive. Both bodies offer both engines.
How much does a new Mazda3 cost in Mobile, AL?⌄
It depends on the body and the trim, and every figure we publish is MSRP including destination and delivery. The two cards higher up this page carry the MSRP of each body’s cheapest trim — and the two ranges do not open at the same trim, so those two figures are a starting point rather than a like-for-like comparison. Each body’s own page walks every trim it offers. MSRP excludes tax, title, license, the dealer documentary service fee and the tag fee.
