What’s New This Model Year
The Mazda3 Sedan carries five trims, two engines and two drivetrains, and the change worth knowing this year is one that reaches every one of them: Mazda Harmonic Acoustics eight-speaker audio is now standard equipment across the lineup. Eight Speakers, Standard Across the Lineup
Mazda Harmonic Acoustics eight-speaker audio is standard on every Mazda3 Sedan trim this model year, from the 2.5 S through the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. A Bose upgrade is still available at the top of the range.
All-Wheel Drive on Two of Five Trims
i-ACTIV AWD® comes on the 2.5 S Carbon Edition and the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. The 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select Sport and 2.5 S Preferred are front-wheel drive. That is the opposite of how every CX-family Mazda is configured, and it is worth checking before you shop a trim.
Five Trims, One Turbocharged Engine
The ladder runs 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select Sport, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. Only the last of those carries the turbocharged engine, and it carries all-wheel drive with it.

The 2.5 S Carbon Edition is the one trim that pairs i-ACTIV AWD® with the naturally aspirated engine, alongside its blacked-out exterior treatment.
The Turbocharged Engine With Standard AWD
The flagship trim is the only place the 250-hp turbocharged engine and i-ACTIV AWD® arrive together. It is the single widest step in the ladder for exactly that reason.
Bose Audio Available
A Bose audio upgrade is available on the flagship trim, on top of the eight-speaker system the rest of the lineup carries as standard.
