What’s New This Model Year
The CX-90 Plug-In Hybrid is a separate model from the gas CX-90 rather than a trim of it: a 323-hp plug-in hybrid system in place of the inline-six, 27 miles of electric-only driving, one fewer seat and a lower tow rating. One Plug-In Hybrid System, Three Trims
The e-Skyactiv Plug-In Hybrid system makes 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on 91-octane premium fuel. All three trims get the same output, so moving up the ladder buys equipment rather than power.
27 Miles Before the Engine Starts
27 miles of EPA-rated electric-only driving, then 26 mpg on gasoline once the battery is depleted — 56 MPGe combined. All three trims post the same figures.
